FROMP would like to thank the Heart of England Foundation and Big Lottery Fund for recent grants enabling tree maintenance to take place.
Thank you to FROMP supporter Anne who has very kindly sent us some photographs of a variety of butterflies and birds she managed to spot on her recent visits to Myton Pool. If you have any photos from the pool please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org or post them on our Facebook page. We’d love to see them!
Friends of Myton Pool would like to invite you to participate in our FREE Scarecrow Event on Sunday 19th September 2021.
Make a scarecrow - use your imagination to create something themed or a classic scarecrow design, give it a name and bring it along to the pool to display on or just before Sun 19th Sept. You can place your scarecrow wherever you like along the paths at the pool (ensuring that you don’t restrict any access of course).
Refreshments and cake will be served at the pool at 2PM on the day and visitors will be able to vote for their favourite scarecrow!
Please come along and support us!
Thank you to Heather & Martin Haslett for the recent guided walk between Foundry Wood and Myton Pool. The weather held and a lovely, informative walk was had by all.
We are excited to report recent sightings of kingfishers back at the pool! Please send us your photographs via Facebook or email
Thank you to all who decorated stones with a festive theme and placed them at the pool. We loved seeing the hand-made natural decorations placed on the trees and the lights that supporters decorated the green space with.
The 11th Community Green Flag Award for Myton Pool was awarded in October 2020. Thank you to all our volunteers who have helped keep the Pool tidy and maintained during the Covid-19 restrictions.
Our tenth anniversary working party, barbecue and live music event was a great success thanks to you! It was wonderful to have lots of new and not so new faces at our community working party on Saturday 14th July 2019.
Myton Pool’s seasonal maintenance is solely achieved through local volunteers so your support is greatly appreciated. The edges of the paths were strimmed and cleared, and over-enthusiastic foliage trimmed back to ensure that the pool area is accessible for all.
What a magnificent day was had on Sunday 19th May 2019 when we welcomed the guided walk visitors from Foundry Wood to Myton Pool! We learned much about the history of the area between Foundry Wood and Myton Pool and enjoyed some homemade cake and coffee. Thank you to all those who helped set up and provide refreshments on the day. And a special thank you to Martin and Heather Haslett who led the guided walk.
